Dr. Hansen, a Principal of Hansen, Allen & Luce, Inc., has more than 34 years’ experience in the design and management of water-related engineering studies and design projects. His experience has focused on civil engineering and water resources, including surface and groundwater studies and investigations, permitting, evaluation, and design of water projects including pipelines, well designs and evaluations, well house and pumping facility design, pipelines, regulatory compliance, water rights, and litigation support. Dr. Hansen has held various positions within AWWA including a term as Section Chair. He currently serves as the Summit County District Engineer over the Water Concurrency Program and as a board member of Timber Lakes Water Special Service District.

Dr. Hansen has a B.S.C.E. degree from the University of Utah, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Utah State University in Water Resources and Hydrology, and Hydraulics respectively. In 2003 Dr. Hansen received the American Water Works Association Outstanding Service Award. In 2007 he received the American Water Works Association George Warren Fuller Award at the national conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Hansen has been married to Leann Simonsen Hansen for 39 years. Together they have 5 children and 16 grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with his family at home or at their cabin, motorcycling, snowmobiling, and boating on Lake Powell.
