Marina Pump Station receives another Project of the Year award

At the June 19 Saratoga Springs City Council meeting, the Utah Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA Utah) presented their 2018 Public Works Project of the Year award to the Marina Pump Station.

The award is the second for the Marina Pump Station; earlier this year, the Associated General Contractors of Utah gave the project their Civil/Public Works Project of the Year award.

The City of Saratoga Springs, Utah, retained Hansen, Allen & Luce (HAL) to provide design and construction engineering services for an irrigation pump station adjacent to Utah Lake. The new project will provide water to the City’s growing southern area and allow the City to utilize Utah Lake water rights.

Pumping water directly from Utah Lake (rather than the downstream Jordan River and its canals) bypasses 15 miles of open channels and avoids seepage and evaporation losses that would occur along the way. The pump station has a capacity of 10,000 gallons per minute.
