Kai is a Civil and Environmental Engineer at Hansen, Allen & Luce (HAL). His engineering focus is on projects related to planning, operation, optimization, and design of municipal water systems. Since joining HAL, Kai has contributed to numerous Strategic Energy Management engagements with clients throughout the nation. Kai’s expertise in hydraulic modeling allows him to help operators optimize the existing system operations to improve energy efficiency, hydraulic performance, and water quality. He uses hydraulic modeling software, including EPANET 2.0 and InfoWater, for master planning, development review, and energy efficiency analysis. Kai received M.S. and B.S. degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering with an emphasis in Water Resources and Project Management from the University of Utah.
