Dennis recently joined the HAL team as a Senior Project Manager. Dennis spent nearly two decades of his career serving the public.  He led the South Salt Lake City Public Works department as the Public Works Director for eight years and as the City Engineer from 2006 to 2024. Dennis has also served as the Utah Chapter President of the American Public Works Association, and is an active member of the Utah City Engineers Association which presented him with their 2023 Lifetime Service Award recognizing his contributions to the engineering profession.

Dennis brings in-depth expertise in the planning, design, and construction of all types of municipal infrastructure projects including water, wastewater, storm drainage, transportation, trails, and parks. He has worked closely with UTA and UDOT on regionally significant transportation projects and coordinated with both entities to construct municipal infrastructure. He received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University, where he also played center and guard on the Cougar football team.  Dennis is an avid football fan who bleeds Cougar blue. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time at his cabin, camping, spending time with family, and coaching youth sports.
