Dr. Dana Tran, PhD, Environmental Engineer (center) joined HAL in the Fall of 2024. She brings a detailed background in water quality – specifically with researching treatments for emerging contaminants in water systems. Previously, she was a postdoctoral researcher with the Environmental Protection Agency where she focused on characterizing microplastics in municipal and industrial wastewater. Prior to her position at EPA, Dana was a PhD researcher evaluating treatment technologies for the removal of explosive compounds from munitions wastewater. Dr. Tran earned her PhD in 2023 from the University of Utah in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Anna Lisonbee, Civil and Environmental Engineer (left). Since joining HAL in the Fall of 2024, Anna has been involved in a variety of projects including hydrologic modeling, open channel flow/hydraulic modeling, hydraulic structure design, and GIS. She is a water resources engineer and an Envision Sustainability Professional. In 2022, Anna earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Utah. She is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) as well as a presidency volunteer where she supports all local branches, technical institutes and student chapters and manages statewide efforts to improve the industry. She is also a STEM committee member where she connects industry representatives and local educators of grades K-12 with STEM careers to support workforce growth.
Bill Johnson, Senior Field Technician (right) began his career at HAL in the Winter of 2024. As a Senior Field Technician, Bill brings two decades of experience in the geomembrane field, beginning as a technician working up to a supervisor, and 10 years as a senior field technician on a variety of projects including CQA, heap leach pads and solid and hazardous waste landfills.
Additionally, HAL is happy to have the added support of Nate Henke as a drafter, and Lucas Fowler a student intern. Both joined the firm in 2024, not pictured.
