The Intermountain Section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) has selected Robert B. Sowby, Ph.D., P.E., as the 2019 recipient of its Young Professional Award.
The award recognizes young professionals who have exhibited leadership in the Utah/Idaho water industry through technical expertise, new ideas, and involvement in the association.
Dr. Sowby, a water resources engineer at Hansen, Allen & Luce (HAL), received the award during the section’s annual conference, held Oct. 9–11 in Sun Valley, Idaho. The awards committee noted his many contributions to AWWA publications and his role in helping public water systems operate more sustainably.
