Recently HAL staff, their families, and friends put in a hard day’s work planting trees at Dimple Dell Park East Trailhead.
HAL helped plant approximately 20 apple trees on an historic orchard which will be used as a community space supported by the Dimple Dell Preservation Community, Sandy City, and Salt Lake County.
This planting was one step towards an orchard which will contain about 100-120 apple trees. With goals to improve the historic farmhouse and surrounding lands this up-and-coming community space will be sure to attract community members to Dimple Dell Park.
The Saturday morning event supported TreeUtah, which works to plant trees in public spaces throughout the state, making Utah a greener place to live, work, and play.
The Community Tree Planting program helps make our schools, parks, and other spaces beautiful and inviting by planting and maintaining large trees. With newly planted trees, these areas will help improve the air and lower temperatures in our cities.
