Kearns Improvement District 1.5 MG Tank, Pipeline and Pump Station

Kearns Improvement District 1.5 MG Tank, Pipeline and Pump Station

HAL worked with the District on the siting study and design for a new 1.5 MG tank that serves the District’s Drinking Water System Pressure Zone E. The project included a water transmission pipeline from the tank to the existing Sunset Hills subdivision, located immediately north and east of the tank site, and an emergency overflow pipeline/storm drain pipeline from the tank site to tie into the storm drainage system of the subdivision. HAL provided preliminary and final design, coordination with governing entities, preparation of bid documents, and assisted with bidding project Construction Administration Services. The District bid the tank as a standard reinforced concrete tank with an alternative for an internal tendon pre-stressed concrete tank, meeting the requirements of AWWA D115, Tendon-Pre-stressed Concrete Water Tanks. The project was designed in 2018 and constructed in 2019.
